What a Huge Iphone!

2 February 2010 No Comment

For Mac enthusiasts, the newly released Apple iPad totally different from iPod touch is in no doubt a big eye-catcher. As Apple CEO Steve Jobs said, the iPad is positioned in a brand new category of devices between the notebook and the smartphone. But for some commentators, it is more like a hybrid of the two.

Using the similar physical design and user interface as iPhone, the iPad tablet just looks like an oversized iPhone. The gadget has a 9.7 screen and a speedier chip, and taking advantage of these it is open to more computer-like apps and functionalities that are not available to iPhone. While compared to a Mac laptop, it is much cheaper and light-weighted. But it is still a bit early to tell if the iPad will be more of a creation device than a better version of an existing type of ipod shuffle, or if it is worthy enough to get consumers to dig down for it. Here is a profile of Apple iPad according to a related wholesale blog site:

  • A large, high-resolution LED-backlit IPS display
  • A responsive multi-touch 9.7 inches screen
  • Only 1.5 pounds and 0.5 inch thin
  • A powerful Apple-designed A4 chip
  • iPad will run almost 140,000 apps from the App Store.
  • Up to 10 hours battery life while using Wi-Fi networks or the multi-medias
  • Available in a 3G model with superfast data speeds up to 7.2 Mbps.
  • Available with a choice of 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB of flash storage
  • Others

Lots of accessories are designed for iPad (a great Vatentine’s Day Gifts for Her by the way) to make up some minuses as a computer. The keyboard Dock, for instance, connects the iPad with a full-sized keyboard. The built-in Bluetooth also enables iPad to work with the Apple Wireless Keyboard. And there are other accessories that facilitate the use of iPad.

Pricing for iPad may vary from the modest $499 for a base version with 16 GB memory and Wi-Fi, but no cell phone data connectivity, to $829 for a fully loaded model with 64 GB memory, Wi-Fi and a no-contract 3G cellular data plan. See variations below:

Not just that, iPad even has the most punctual timing which is better than traditional automatic mens watches.
